Chelsea & Portugal Defender Paulo Ferreira Confirms Retirement From International Football
Right-back to concentrate on club duties...
By Matt Monaghan
Ferreira, 31, told the Portuguese Football Federation of his decision on Monday to call time on his eight-year international career. During that time, he picked up 62 caps and played at two European Championships and two World Cups.
The full-back has appeared in Chelsea's opening games this season after injury concerns for Branislav Ivanovic. The ex-Porto man will now concentrate on his club duties as the Blues look to build on last season's FA Cup and Premier League success.
