Young Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku made his debut for Belgium's senior side in Wednesday's 1-0 international friendly loss against Croatia and the 16-year-old was over the moon with his international bow.
"It was a bit overwhelming in the opening minutes of the game. However, more experienced players such as Vincent Kompany, Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen helped me through it," said Lukaku to Belgian reporters.
"I'm a bit disappointed that we lost the match, but I'm very happy with my international debut. This is a great experience and will help me develop into a better player.
"I just did what the coach asked me to do. He wanted me to to get involved in the combination and be alert in front of goal. It would have been perfect if I had scored a goal, but there'll be more matches to come."
