Teams

England beat Germany last night by two goals to one in the Olympic Stadium extending their unbeaten run in Berlin to eight games.

Goals from Matthew Upson and John Terry separated the two sides after Patrick Helmes pegged one back for Die Mannschaft to net his first goal in international colours.

Even though both sides fielded weakened teams for different reasons the Three Lions were the more dominant team with particularly good displays from flanker Stewart Downing and fringe centre half Upson.

Fifteen Arrests

The win however was soured as pandemonium erupted in the streets after the game.

Violence ensued between supporters of both nations and Sky Sports have today confirmed that 15 people were arrested as a result.

Orgy Of Drunken Violence

England fans have been been detained by police in Germany before.

During the 2006 World Cup hundreds of fans were reportedly held in Stuttgart after they spent the evening hurling chairs and verbally abusing onlookers in what has since been described as an 'orgy of drunken violence.'

The hooliganism overshadowed the nation's 1-0 win over South American side Ecuador.
