Next February, a most prestigious international friendly match will take place. The last two World Cup winning nations, Italy and Brazil, have been scheduled to meet for some time, and today the date and venue of the match were finally announced.

The encounter will be played on 10 February at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium in London. The Gunners are proud to host the occasion, as chairman Peter Hill-Wood explained.

"Everyone at Arsenal is proud and honored to be staging this international match between two of the world's greatest teams," he said.

"Brazil and Italy both have a proud and very successful football history and we are looking forward to welcoming the teams and the many Brazilian and Italian supporters."

It will be a special match for both sets of players, as many Brazilian internationals ply their trade in Serie A, so they often come up against their Azzurri counterparts during club action. It could also be the first international match for Juventus striker Amauri, who has not yet chosen which of the two national teams to represent.
