The skipper of the Turkish giants has sung the praises of the Portuguese winger, claiming he remains a very talented player, despite his off-pitch anticsBesiktas captain Ibrahim Toraman has spoken highly of club team-mate Ricardo Quaresma, whose future at the Black Eagles remains unclear.
The Portuguese star moved to the Turkish giants in 2010, but has been recently involved in a contract dispute with the club, which resulted in the player being frozen out of the side for the first two months of the campaign.
Despite Quaresma's off-pitch troubles, Toraman remains convinced that the former Inter player possesses outstanding abilities.
"You cannot question Ricardo's abilities. If he adapts to a team, he can be very effective. He played crucial roles here from time to time. But as a player, I won't comment over his future at the club," he told NTV Sport in an interview.
Toraman then proceeded to talk about another Portuguese player at the club, Manuel Fernandes, whose future also hangs in the balance.
"He is not a troublemaker at all. He is one of Besiktas' most valuable assets," he continued.
"He received a lot of offers in the summer and maybe suffered a dillema. Confusions over his future at the club are normal. He had a good pre-season period and has played well since the start of the season."
