Board member admits interest in a trio of attackers as the Turkish club look to strengthen their front lineWith Hugo Almeida keen to leave the club and ongoing problems surrounding Ricardo Quaresma, Besiktas look keen to sign one of three strikers, after a board member disclosed their interest in the players.
Rennes' Mevlut Erding, Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh and Zenit's Danko Lazovic are the three players on the Turkish giants' shopping list, and the club hopes to do some business due to Almeida's desire to move on.
"We remain in favour of Almeida, but he wants to go and he's hard to keep," reasoned Ahmed Nur Cebi to Radyospor.
"Quaresma, is a difficult issue. The fans want him in the team but he has troubles, continuous issues keep coming up," explained Cebi.
He also told the website that their pursuits of Gokhan Unal and Necati Ates are over.
"Necati and Gokhan are not the names on the agenda at the moment." the board member claimed. "Mevlut Erding has been spoken to, but I do not know the status of it.
"Chamakh, I'd love but we're different from his expectations," he explained.
