Rodgers will provide Liverpool lift, says Kuyt
The departing Dutchman has stated that the new boss is more than capable of taking the Anfield club to the next level in their quest for Champions League qualification
Dirk Kuyt is backing the new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers to be a huge success on Merseyside, and firmly believes that he is the man to bring the glory days back to Anfield.Kuyt, who is joining Turkish side Fenerbache next season, has been a runner-up in the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool during his six year stint at the club. He was also a part of the League Cup winning team this season, and the Dutchman believes that silverware is just around the corner for the club now that Rodgers has taken the hot seat.
"I think it's great for the club that they have finally announced the new manager," he told the club's official website.
"From what I have heard from Michel Vorm, who is with me in the national team, he is a great manager and [Vorm] told me he will be perfect for Liverpool and he will definitely lift the club up to a higher state."
Kuyt also moved to dispel any question marks over the quality of the Liverpool squad, despite a league campaign that didn't quite live up to expectations.
He added: "Liverpool has a great squad of players and I'm sure with this manager they will do well.
"I hope they will be very successful."
