Official: Galatasaray Sign Juan Culio From CFR Cluj
Juan Culio has left Romanian side CFR Cluj for an adventure with Galatasaray.
Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray have confirmed the capture of Argentinian playmaker Juan Culio from Romanian champions CFR Cluj for a reputed fee of €2 million. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a contract until 2014 with his new club. The Istanbul titans were eager to add some more creativity to their squad this winter after head coach Gheorghe Hagi opted to demote Zvjezdan Misimovic to the reserves and Hagi has now gotten his desired reinforcements in midfield.
Culio started his career with Flandria and also wore the jerseys of Almagro, Independiente, Racing Club and Deportes la Serena before joining CFR Cluj in the summer in 2007.
After three successful seasons, Culio will now try to make the next step in his career at Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants have been in disappointing form this season and sit only ninth in the league table halfway through the season.
