Official: Ankaragucu Appoint Trond Sollied As New Head Coach
The Norwegian gaffer has signed a contract at Turkish side Ankaragucu...
Beleaguered Turkish outfit Ankaragucu have appointed Norwegian manager Trond Sollied as their new head coach with immediate effect. Sollied will coach his first game next Sunday away against Eskisehirspor.
Sollied had been out of work ever since he got fired at Eredivisie side Heerenveen earlier this season. The 50-year-old previously worked at clubs such as Club Brugge, Olympiacos and AA Gent.
Ankaragucu were in the market for a new coach ever since they parted company with Hikmet Karaman about a week ago. The club's board was far from satisfied with the results under Karaman and gave him the sack.
The Ankara side currently sit twelfth in the Turkcell Super Lig with 13 points from 12 games.
Ankaragucu recently got their fair share of attention in the media after English striker Darius Vassell got evicted from his hotel room following the club's failure to pay for the room in time.
