Fenerbahce Target Benfica Defender Luisao - Report

The Brazilian centre-back continues to attract the interest of European clubs...

Luisao - Benfica
Luisao has been linked with football away from the Estadio da Luz all summer, with Fiorentina thought to be keen on his services.

However, with the Viola's interest having cooled after negotiations with Benfica broke down, Fenerbahce have now entered the race for Luisao, according to Jornal de Noticias.

The Brazil international, who is valued by the club at €10 million, wants an improved contract, but guaranteed today there has been no progress regarding talks with the Eagles.

"I cannot deny that I have not defined my situation," he told GLOBOESPORTE.  "Anyway, regardless of what happens, I have a great relationship with the Benfica board."

Luisao is regarded by Benfica as a key member of the club, but it is believed they would not hang up the phone on an interesting offer as they are looking to generate funds after spending heavily this summer.
