Reports in Turkey claim that Besiktas and Nihat Kahveci have come to an agreement for the player to return to his home country but that the cost of the transfer is stalling the move.
Villarreal are apparently insisting on €7 million for the forward whilst the Turkish club are only willing to pay €4m for his services.
Should the two sides fail to reach an agreement then it is thought that Fenerbahce could be another option for the 29-year-old.
Certainly at the moment Nihat's Villarreal future does not look too bright and after a disappointing season he looks set to leave Spain.
During the course of the campaign he was plagued by injuries and in the 19 games that he did take part in, he failed to find the back of the net once.
That drought, along with the good form of Joseba Llorente and Giuseppe Rossi, means that he will only be third choice if he stays, and if Villarreal fail to sign another forward.
More importantly, there has been no extension to his contract which expires in 2011 and it looks as though he will be going back to Turkey.
