The Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce couldn't have ended any worse for either team as the 0-0 result leaves them both floundering in the title race.
The draw sees the teams lagging eight points behind league leaders Sivasspor, but the match was overshadowed by violent scenes on the pitch as four players clashed to provide a spark following an uninspiring game.
Just before the final whistle, Fenerbahce defender Diego Lugano head-butted Emre Asik following a challenge. This triggered a rumble between both teams, and the referee, Firat Aydinus sent both men off.
The battles didn't stop there though as Semih Senturk exchanged blows with Arda Turan. The two Turkish internationals who, according to reports, are great friends off the pitch, were also given their marching orders.
It's not what both teams wanted as their men are likely to be suspended for the clashes against Hacettepe and Besiktas. The title is looking unlikely for the Istanbul-based clubs with just five matches left in the Turkish league.
