Van Basten tips PSV to win the Eredivisie
The Dutch legend has been impressed with the side's form this season, and has backed them to hold onto their lead and win the division
Marco van Basten has praised Eredivisie leaders PSV and suggested they have the quality to hold onto their lead and win the division. The Dutch side have been in scintillating form this season, and the Heerenveen coach believes that they have the attacking quality required to be the secure the title.
"I think, because of the standings at the top [of the table], PSV have the best chance to be champions," he told reporters.
PSV are currently two and three points ahead of Ajax and Feyenoord respectively, and Van Basten - whose Heerenveen side currently lie comfortably in mid-table - thinks the attacking potential of the team is where their main strengths lie.
"Without Lens and Narsingh, PSV has an awful lot of quality up front. And in midfield [they] still an awful lot of quality. In the back is a bit less, but that [offensively] is where there is a difference between the other sides."
