The 43-year-old believed his side should have won more convincingly after they were saved by a last minute winner, but remains confident they can put together a string of results
After going down to 10-men inside the first 20 minutes, Roda fought back to make it 2-2 before Michael de Leeuw netted the winner deep into injury-time to complete his hat-trick and steal the three points for Groningen.
Maaskant insisted his side deserved the win as they won their second successive Eredivisie match, but said he was not completely satisfied with their display.
“I think we deserved the win, let there be no misunderstanding,” the 43-year-old told reporters after the game. “But I have a poor feeling after stepping off the field.
“Fortunately, we kept believing and we managed to score the winner. We realise we needed to improve, but we can put together a string of runs after this.”
Groningen are now ninth in the league with 10 points from seven matches and host Feyenoord next weekend.
