El Ahmadi closing in on 'dream move' to Aston Villa
By Stefan Coerts
Jun 26, 2012 4:40:00 PM
The Morocco international is hopeful of joining the Premier League side this summer as talks between both clubs are ongoing
Feyenoord midfielder Karim El Ahmadi is keen to join Aston Villa ahead of 2012-13 campaign. The Premier League side are reportedly in advanced talks with the Rotterdam giants about a summer transfer, and the 27-year-old is eager to make the move to England.
"This is a dream for any player. I hope that the move will take place. It's now up to the clubs to reach an agreement," El Ahmadi stated to RTV Rijnmond.
"I was on the verge of signing a new deal when this came up. I am 27 and that's the perfect age for a new challenge. The Premier League is the best league in the world in my opinion. I didn't need to think long about this.
"Everything is great here. If the clubs reached an agreement, it can be a done deal very quickly."
El Ahmadi's current contract runs until the summer of 2013, but Feyenoord are ready to let go of the midfielder if an offer in the region of €3 million comes in.
