The Dutchman, who missed a spot kick during the Champions League final loss against Chelsea, was whistled by the Bayern fans every time he touched the ball during the match, and players such as Mark van Bommel and Wesley Sneijder have since expressed their dismay with the treatment Robben received.
"Arjen should just let this pass. He has to remain calm and score twice in his next important game for Bayern [to silence his critics]," Makaay stated to De Telegraaf.
"He should focus on Oranje and Euro 2012 for now, then enjoy his holiday, and then return to Bayern and prove his worth.
"I've never seen a Bayern player being treated like this. This is wrong and a real shame. I can accept it that they whistle the team after a poor performance, but jeering someone for missing a penalty. Surely more players have missed a spot kick."
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed on Thursday that several fans have apologised to the club for the events during the 3-2 win.
