Nacer Chadli eager to return to Twente first-team after appearance with reserves

The 22-year-old was delighted at playing a full half for the reserves following three months on the sidelines

Twente winger Nacer Chadli is hoping to return to first-team action very soon after playing 45 minutes for the reserves earlier this week.

The Belgium international has been out of action since July with a persistent knee injury and made his comeback for Jong Twente in their 2-0 victory over Jong PSV on Monday.

The 22-year-old is happy to be playing football again after his long absence and says he cannot wait to get back into the Twente first-team.

“I've waited a long time for this moment and I'm very satisfied that I was fit enough to last 45 minutes,” he told Volkskrant.

“Twente are performing pretty well at the moment and we've recorded some good results. However, I believe that I can add something extra to the team.”

Chadli signed for Twente from AGOVV in the summer of 2010.
