thumbnail Hello,

AZ shot-stopper Sergio Romero has reportedly attracted the interest of Galatasaray.

Highly rated shot stopper Sergio Romero could be on his way out of Eredivisie outfit AZ as Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray have shown an interest in signing the glovesman, according to a report in De Telegraaf.

The Istanbul side are eager to add a new goalkeeper to their squad in the January transfer window and had initially set their sights on Arsenal goalie Manuel Almunia.

However, head coach Gheorghe Hagi has now supposedly turned his attention to the 23-year-old Romero instead.

Romero joined AZ from Racing Club in the summer of 2007 and has since developed into a key player at the Alkmaar side. He played a major role in his side's Eredivisie title in 2008-09 with some outstanding performances.

The Argentina international is eager to move to a bigger club though and AZ are ready to cash in on Romero if a good offer comes in. The glovesman's current contract runs until the summer of 2013.
