Dutch powerhouse Ajax have received some good news from the training ground in the build-up to the restart of the Eredivisie at home to arch-rivals Feyenoord on January 19.
According to a report in NUsport, highly rated attacker Mounir el Hamdaoui has returned to the training pitch again for the first time in four weeks and the Morocco international is expected to be ready in time for the match against Feyenoord.
El Hamdaoui was left out of the starting XI for Ajax's 2-0 Champions League win over Milan on December 7 and called in sick the day after. The former AZ attacker hadn't set foot on the training ground since and was widely expected to leave the club this winter.
Instead, El Hamdaoui has now decided to stay at the Godenzonen after all following a good conversation with head coach Frank de Boer and has resumed squad training.
