Beleaguered Eredivisie side Feyenoord have received some positive news from the treatment table in the build-up to the league match away to Groningen on Sunday afternoon.
Young defender Stefan de Vrij has resumed regular squad training again on Thursday after spending the past couple of days on the sidelines and the youngster is expected to be match fit in time for this weekend's league encounter.
"Things went pretty good during training. My knee didn't cause me any difficulties. I'm confident that I'll be able to play against Groningen, unless I endure a setback," De Vrij was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
De Vrij sustained a knee injury during his side's 2-2 league draw with Heerenveen last weekend and was forced to leave the pitch halfway the second half due to the knock. The 18-year-old missed out on several training sessions in the beginning of the week, but is now raring to go again.
