Feyenoord Attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson Sidelined For Six Weeks

The Danish international will be unavailable for a while due to injury...
Experienced Feyenoord attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson has received some disturbing news on the injury front in preparation for the 2010-11 Eredivisie campaign.

The Danish international has been ruled out for an estimated six weeks due to injury. Tomasson sustained the knock in Denmark's 3-1 loss against Japan in the group stage of the 2010 World Cup.

Tomasson has been diagnosed with a torn muscle in his right upper leg and will travel to Denmark at the weekend in order to undergo treatment on his injury.

"Normally, Jon Dahl would need about four to six weeks in order to fully recover from this injury. So he probably won't be fully match fit yet when he returns from his holiday," Feyenoord physio Rene Dannenburg was quoted as saying on the Feyenoord website.

Tomasson scored 11 goals in 24 Eredivisie appearances for Feyenoord last season.
