He may be afraid of rabbits, but the prospect of moving half way round the globe to start a new life hasn’t fazed the teenager...

Young South Korean star Hyun Jun Suk has revealed that he is slowly getting used to life in the Netherlands, since arriving at Ajax last summer.

Speaking to the press on Friday, the tall 18-year-old forward discussed, amongst other matters, his fear of rabbits, though the most insightful comments were passed regarding his settling in process to a completely different culture.

“In the beginning I was very anxious and afraid to make mistakes,” he revealed. “I was very focused in order to earn a contract. Now I am a lot calmer. The contract has given me security. Of course, I still have flaws, but I can learn from them. In the beginning I always felt that I would probably ruin my chances with a mistake.

“I am here and it is amazing to be absorbed along with everyone. My team-mates speak Dutch with me a lot. That's good for me, because I learn the language faster.”

Asked how he would feel about winning the Eredivisie title with Ajax, the youngster replied, “I already get goose bumps when I think about it. Even though I have made no major contribution this season, it is important to me to win trophies.”

Ajax are currently in second place, one point behind Twente with two games remaining.
