By Stefan Coerts
Ambitious Eredivisie outfit Groningen have been dealt yet another blow on the injury front in the build-up to the league trip to NAC Breda this weekend.
Young midfielder Danny Holla sustained a fractured leg during a training session on Thursday and will probably be sidelined for several months due to the injury.
According to a report on the official Groningen website, the holding midfielder was immediately transported to the hospital after the incident to undergo further examination. Holla is likely to undergo surgery later today.
Groningen are being plagued by injury setbacks this season. Petter Andersson, Ondrej Svejdik and Sepp de Roover all picked up season-ending knee injuries earlier this term, while Theo Lucius also sustained a fractured leg earlier this month.
