Eredivisie powerhouse Feyenoord are closely monitoring Heracles' Holland under-21 star Bas Dost, according to a report in Algemeen Dagblad.

Feyenoord are in the market for a new striker due to the expected departure of Roy Makaay at the end of the season and head coach Mario Been reportedly sees Dost as the perfect addition to his squad.

The 20-year-old attacker joined Heracles from Emmen in the summer of 2008 and has developed into one of the key players at the Almelo side this term. Dost has scored 11 goals in 26 Eredivisie appearances.

Feyenoord face stiff competition from Twente and Heerenveen in the race for Dost's signature. Heracles have reportedly set a €1 million asking price for the young striker.
