The Nigerian attacker is on trial at Eredivisie side Feyenoord...
The 27-year-old attacker wore the shirt of Russian side Kuban Krasnodar last season, but Babangida is eager to return to western Europe and has apparently set his sights on a move to the Eredivisie.
However, it remains to be seen whether Feyenoord will be able to offer Babangida a contract, even if he impresses. The Rotterdam side are being plagued by financial trouble and will have to offload a player before making a move on the transfer market.
"He certainly has the skills to add something to this team. However, we will probably not sign him unless we sell someone else," said Feyenoord coach Mario Been to Sportweek.
Feyenoord winger Andwele Slory is continually being linked with a move to the Premier League and Babangida could be signed as his replacement should a transfer materialise.
