Ajax Coach Martin Jol Thanks Luis Suarez For Nicolas Lodeiro Transfer Coup
Suarez appears to be equally as useful off the pitch as on it, as Jol praised his influence in getting Lodeiro to Amsterdam...

Ajax have virtually completed the signing of Uruguayan international playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro, though coach Martin Jol believes much of their success in achieving this particular coup in the transfer market is due to Luis Suarez.
A countryman and international team-mate of the 20-year-old Lodeiro, who previously turned out for Nacional, Suarez is said to have played a big role in persuading the burgeoning South American that the move to Amsterdam was right for him, and Jol wasted no time in paying tribute to his striker’s off-field efforts.
“Nacional were deep in negotiations with AZ, so Luis had to convince him to come to Ajax,” Jol explained, according to Goal.com Netherlands. “The idea at first was to sign him next season, but [Nicolas] wanted to join us now.
“Luis was very enthusiastic, he knows him well. That made him the best scout.”
Lodeiro is poised to sign a two-and-a-half deal with the Dutch outfit, with some sources, including Nacional's official website, suggesting that the move has been completed and only needs to be formally announced by Ajax.
