Portsmouth Keeping Tabs On Groningen Midfielder Goran Lovre - Report
The Serbian midfielder is widely expected to leave Groningen and could be on his way to the Premier League...
Eredivisie outfit Groningen could lose Goran Lovre to Premier League side Portsmouth, according to a report in News of the World.
The attacking midfielder has an expiring contract at the Dutch team and negotiations about a new deal have recently collapsed. Therefore, Groningen could opt to cash in on Lovre in the winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old shouldn't be too expensive and with Pompey's current financial troubles, he is being looked at as a smart capture if they can force the lifting of the transfer embargo in place at Fratton Park.
Lovre joined Groningen from Belgian powerhouse Anderlecht in the summer of 2006 and has made well over 100 league appearances for the Pride of the North, scoring 22 goals in the process.
