According to a report in Dutch TV show Voetbal International, Premier League side Manchester City are considering making a move for Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel.

The Citizens are reportedly keen to add a new right back to their squad in the upcoming transfer window and manager Mark Hughes has made the Dutch international his main target on the transfer market.

Van der Wiel has developed into an important first team player at the Amsterdam powerhouse in the past two seasons and has even made it into the Dutch national side.

Manchester City face stiff competition in the race for Van der Wiel's signature though. Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Ajax are reluctant to let go of their prized asset, but the Eredivisie giants could be tempted to cash in on Van der Wiel if an offer in the region of €12 million comes in.
