AZ Striker Ari On His Way To Turkey - Report
The Brazilian hitman could be on his way to Turkey in January...
Reigning Eredivisie champions AZ will possibly have to defend their league title without Brazilian striker Ari after the January transfer window. The attacker is eager to leave the club in order to get regular first team football elsewhere and appears to be on his way to Turkey.
"I don't want to stay at AZ if my current situation doesn't change. I've been approached by a club from Turkey and we're in talks," was Ari quoted as saying by Swedish newspaper Barometern.
"It's too bad that the Turkish competition isn't as well known as the Dutch Eredivisie. However, the important thing for me is to get regular first team football again."
The 23-year-old attacker joined AZ from Swedish outfit Kalmar in the summer of 2007 and scored eighteen goals in 49 league appearances in his first two seasons.
Nevertheless, he appears to be surplus to requirements under new coach Ronald Koeman and has played only three games this season.
Ari refused to mention the name of the club that is interested in signing him in the January transfer window.
