We Are Not Interested In Signing Halil Altintop - PSV Coach Fred Rutten
The PSV gaffer has downplayed rumours linking the Eredivisie side with Schalke's Halil Altintop...
PSV coach Fred Rutten has contradicted earlier reports that the Eindhoven powerhouse are closely monitoring the situation of Schalke 04 attacker Halil Altintop.
"I've read about our alleged interest in Altintop, but this rumour is absolutely false. I do understand where the rumour comes from, but we're not interested in signing him," Rutten said to PSV TV.
"I worked with Halil at Schalke and I enjoyed coaching him. However, people only notice his current situation and then remember me at PSV before coming up with this kind of rumour."
The 26-year-old Altintop has been mainly warming the bench this term and has made only seven official appearances so far. His current Schalke deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010.
