According to a report on Eredivisie Live, Dutch powerhouse Ajax are ready to part company with defender Robbie Wielaert after the centre back has failed to break into the first team in Amsterdam.

The experienced defender joined Ajax from Twente in January 2009 after a lengthy transfer saga. However, Wielaert failed to live up to the high expectations at the Amsterdam Arena and was mainly warming the bench this season.

The 30-year-old has made nineteen league appearances for Ajax so far, scoring once. He lost his spot in the starting xi to Belgian youngster Toby Alderweireld this term.

No teams have approached Ajax regarding the availability of Wielaert so far but the defender is widely expected to move on in the January transfer window after just one year at Ajax.
