Eredivisie powerhouse PSV have received some promising news from the treatment table ahead of Sunday's league game at home against Heracles Almelo.

Experienced defender Andre Ooijer is all set to return to match action after having recovered from a knee injury. The former Blackburn Rovers defender had been sidelined ever since the 0-0 league draw against Utrecht about six weeks ago.

The 35-year-old returned to regular training sessions earlier this week and has now been included in the PSV match squad for Sunday's encounter. However, it remains to be seen whether head coach Fred Rutten will field Ooijer.

"We'll have to be careful with Andre. He has been out of action for well over a month. His return leads to somewhat of a luxury problem. We hardly have any injury worries at the moment," Rutten said on the official PSV website.
