The Oranje were yet again held to a scoreless draw in Wednesday's international friendly against Paraguay. Holland failed to find the net for the third consecutive match and defender Joris Mathijsen agreed that the Dutch must improve up front.

"It's a bit harsh to say that our performance was bad and boring. However, we really should have scored. We always get out there to attack, especially at home," said the HSV man to SBS6.

"So it's clear that we need to do better in attack. We were quite dangerous down the left wing before the break, but it was hard to score as we lacked men inside their box.

"We were unable to play our own game on the right wing. We couldn't really get our final pass in. I agree that the match could have been a boring one for some people, but we did our utmost.

"We really wanted to win this game, but it just didn't work out. However, the past ten days were important to be together with the team. The positive thing about today's game was that we once again kept a clean sheet," concluded Mathijsen.
