Vurnon Anita has been one of the surprises of the Eredivisie season with his good performances at the left-back position at Ajax and the defender is eager to commit his future to the Amsterdam giants.

"We started negotiations about a new deal a while ago and they're still going. However, I'm confident that negotiations will be successfully ended in the near future," Anita was quoted as saying by Sportweek.

"I have been away a lot lately, either with Ajax or on international duty with the Holland Under-21 squad. That's why we haven't completed negotiations just yet, but I'll ink a new deal within two weeks."

The 20-year-old made his official Ajax debut in the league game against Groningen in 2006 and has developed into a first team regular under head coach Martin Jol.
