The Dutch skipper was quite satisfied with his side's defensive play...

The Netherlands locked horns Italy with Italy in Pescara and both teams put in quite a disappointing performance. The crowd left the stadium without seeing any valid goals, as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Holland skipper Giovanni van Bronckhorst made it clear after the match that the Dutch struggled to cope with Italy's game-plan. However, the defender was quite happy with his side's defensive outing.

"We were unable to trouble their defence, as our attack was not in good form today. However, we looked very solid at the back and that satisfied me," said the Feyenoord defender to SBS6.

"They forced us to play the long ball too often and we never really got into the game. It's important not to lose this kind of games though, especially when you're not playing that well."
