Financial Struggles Will Force Ajax To Sell Luis Suarez - Report
The Uruguayan attacker could be on his way out of the Amsterdam ArenA...
According to a report on Dutch TV show Voetbal International, Eredivisie giants Ajax could be forced to cash in on star player Luis Suarez in the upcoming winter transfer window due to their worrying financial situation.
The Amsterdam powerhouse might have sold players for a little over €100 million in the past couple of years, but the funds received for players such as Ryan Babel, Wesley Sneijder, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Thomas Vermaelen have all been spent on replacements.
The report reveals that Ajax have spent €144 million on new players in the last few seasons, without being too successful on the transfer market.
The Eredivisie outfit will reportedly be forced to take out a loan or to sell Suarez in order to halt their financial struggles. Ajax have set a €35 million asking price on their captain.
Suarez has been the star player of the Eredivisie this season, scoring 16 goals in 12 league appearances. His impressive performances have resulted in the interest of big teams such as Barcelona, Inter, Manchester United, Milan and Manchester City.
