Ambitious Eredivisie outfit Utrecht will be without the services of Romanian defender Mihai Nesu for a while after the left-back picked up an injury in Friday's 2-1 league win against Roda.

Head coach Ton du Chatinier included Nesu in his starting XI due to the absence of Nana Asare, but the defender limped off the pitch five minutes before the interval with an ankle injury.

Nesu was on the receiving end of a harsh challenge from Roda forward Anouar Hadouir and had to be replaced by Loic Laval. Hadouir was shown a yellow card for his tackle.

A report on the club's official website reads that it's not yet exactly know how long Nesu will be sidelined due to the ankle injury, but he's expected to be out of action for at least three weeks.
