Twente - Groningen
Feyenoord - VVV-Venlo
NAC - RKC Waalwijk
Sunday
AZ - Ajax
Willem II - Heerenveen
Vitesse - Heracles Almelo
NEC - PSV
Utrecht - Roda
The home side have been in superb form this season, but they were unable to beat Groningen in their last match. Utrecht are the Eredivisie's number five side following last week's 0-0 draw. Young striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel picked up an injury in the game against Groningen, but the forward is expected to be match fit in time for Friday's clash against Roda. The Kerkrade outfit have not exactly been impressive this Eredivisie campaign and sit fifteenth in the table with ten points from ten matches. Roda picked up one point in their previous league campaign against VVV. Head coach Ton du Chatinier benched club top scorer Mads Junker last week, but the Danish hitman is expected to return to the starting XI for the game against Utrecht.
Prediction: 3-0
Den Haag - Sparta Rotterdam
The hosts were held to a draw by NEC last week and dropped to ninth spot in the table as a result. They have collected 12 points from their initial ten games. Playmaker Ricky van den Bergh has hit the crossbar four times already this term and his coach will be more than happy to see the gifted forward find the net this time. Sparta have recorded good results against big teams such as Ajax and Feyenoord, but the Rotterdam side have struggled against the smaller sides. They are in twelve spot at the moment with eleven points. Striker Rydell Poepon will miss the match due to a one-match ban following his dismissal in last week's 2-1 victory against Feyenoord.
Prediction: 2-2
Twente - Groningen
Twente are the surprise package of the Dutch league so far. They sit at the summit of the table after ten games and are still unbeaten. They picked up the full three points against reigning champions AZ last week courtesy of a late goal from Blaise N'Kufo and will be delighted to continue their fine form with a good result against rivals Groningen. The man to watch will be in form winger Bryan Ruiz, who has proved to be a worthy replacement for Marko Arnautovic. The away side are still struggling to find their best form, but they appear to be on their way back. They dominated last week's game against Utrecht and deserved more than the 0-0 draw they eventually had to settle for. Groningen are in fourteenth place at the moment. Head coach Ron Jans will rely on Nicklas Pedersen to provide his side with goals, as the Danish forward put in a good performance against Utrecht, despite failing to find the net.
Prediction: 3-1
Feyenoord - VVV
The Rotterdam side will be quite satisfied with the way things are going so far this season. Feyenoord sit fourth in the table with 20 points from their initial ten games. They lost their previous league game against Sparta 2-1 and will be eager to bounce back on Saturday. However, head coach Mario Been will have to make do without the suspended likes of Sekou Cisse and Jon Dahl Tomasson. They will most likely be replaced by Diego Biseswar and Roy Makaay. VVV have lost only twice this Eredivisie campaign, but the Venlo side still sit 'only' thirteenth in the table with ten points. Jan van Dijk's men have already drawn seven games, but it appears to be very much unlikely that they will record a good result in Rotterdam. However, with the individual class of players such as Keisuke Honda and Sandro Calabro, the Feyenoord defenders cannot afford to lose their focus.
Prediction: 2-0
NAC - RKC
NAC recorded an impressive 4-0 home victory against Vitesse last week to bounce back after a number of disappointing results. The Breda side have climbed to eighth spot in the table as a result. Head coach Robert Maaskant will still be without the injured likes of Tommy van der Leegte and Kurt Elshot. The NAC gaffer will rely on in form winger Anthony Lurling to provide his side with goals on Saturday evening. RKC's Eredivisie adventure so far has been far from successful. The Waalwijk side are sitting rock bottom in the table with only three points. Additionally, they're being plagued by financial trouble. They lost last week's match against Heracles 1-0 and lost attacker Benjamin de Ceulaer with a red card, meaning that the Belgian forward will be unavailable on Saturday.
Prediction: 2-0
AZ - Ajax
It has been a difficult season for AZ so far. The Alkmaar side have not been consistent and have already lost five of their initial ten league games. To make things even worse, they lost their main sponsor DSB due to bankruptcy. However, Ronald Koeman's men bounced back with a 1-1 draw against English giants Arsenal in Tuesday's Champions League game. The Eredivisie's number six side will be desperate to record yet another good result on Sunday, when they lock horns with rivals Ajax. The man to watch will be Mounir el Hamdaoui, who's approaching top form again after a number of difficult weeks. Ajax will be quite satisfied with the way things are going at the moment. The Amsterdam side currently sit third in the table with three points and trail table toppers Twente by three points. The Eredivisie powerhouse won last week's home game against Willem II 4-0 and picked up a solid 2-1 win in midweek against Dinamo Zagreb to give their confidence a further boost. Head coach Martin Jol will once again rely on the individual class of star player Luis Suarez to help the Godenzonen to a good result in Alkmaar, but this won't be an easy task.
Prediction: 2-1
Willem II - Heerenveen
The Tilburg outfit currently sit seventeenth in the table and head coach Alfons Groenendijk will be far from happy with his side's results so far. Willem II lost their previous Eredivisie game 4-0 against Ajax and never looked like grabbing a good result against the Amsterdam side. Groenendijk will be eager to see his side improve in the natch against Heerenveen, but the Tricolores will be without left defender Leonardo Veloso due to a one-match ban. Heerenveen have been one of the biggest disappointments of this season so far. The Friezen have collected only eight points up to date and sit in sixteenth place after ten games. They got a bit of a confidence boost on Thursday though, when they defeated Hertha in Berlin in the Europa League. Head coach Jan de Jonge will be more than happy to see his side put in another good performance against Willem II.
Prediction: 1-2
Vitesse - Heracles
The home side are the Eredivisie's number eleven side after ten games. They were heavily beaten 4-0 by NAC in their last league match and will be desperate to bounce back against Heracles. However, head coach Theo Bos will be without the suspended likes of Rogier Molhoek and Frank van der Struijk, while Civard Sprockel is still sidelined with an injury. Therefore, Jeroen Drost is expected to return to the starting XI after a spell on the sidelines due to injury. Heracles have been performing quite impressive. The Almelo outfit sit seventh in the league at the moment and have collected 14 points. Man to watch for the guests will be young striker Bas Dost. The towering forward is in superb form and has scored three league goals so far.
Prediction: 2-2
NEC - PSV
NEC currently sit tenth in the league table with 11 points from ten games. The Nijmegen side were held to a 1-1 draw by ADO Den Haag last week and haven't found their best form yet. Head coach Dwight Lodeweges will hope that forwards Bjorn Vleminckx and Erton Fejzullahu put in a good performance in order to put the pressure on PSV up front. The Eindhoven side haven't been spectacular so far this term, but their results are pretty impressive. PSV are still unbeaten and sit second in the table at the moment with 24 points. They recorded a 1-0 win against Heerenveen last week and won 1-0 in midweek, too. Men to watch at the Eindhoven side are in form attackers Jonathan Reis and Danko Lazovic, while Ibrahim Afellay has been the absolute key man in midfield for head coach Fred Rutten.
Prediction: 1-3
