The board of AZ directors and curators appointed to take charge of the DSB Bank have decided that there will be no sponsor’s name on the Dutch outfit's shirts when they take on Arsenal in Tuesday's Champions League game, an official statement on the club's website reads.

DSB Bank had been AZ's shirt sponsor for the past couple of years, but the company was declared bankrupt on Monday following their ongoing financial struggle.

AZ claimed in an official press statement last week that DSB's financial struggle would not affect the Champions League hopefuls, but it appears to be inevitable that the Alkmaar side will be hit by their sponsor's downfall.

Chairman Dirk Scheringa, owner of the DSB empire, is widely expected to step back from his duties as AZ president in the not so distant future and he will be forced to put his AZ stocks on the market. Two candidates have reportedly already expressed an interest in taking over the club, but a concrete offer has yet to come in.
