Goalkeeper
Rob van Dijk (Feyenoord): Van Dijk played an important role in his side’s away victory against NAC by keeping a clean sheet. The veteran goalie’s experience is of great value to Feyenoord, and he pulled off a number of superb saves.
Defence
Mark van der Maarel (Utrecht): The 20-year-old made his official debut in the Utrecht starting XI and did so impressively. Van der Maarel largely kept AZ's Moussa Dembele and Pontus Wernbloom at bay and was not afraid to go forward whenever possible.
Sander Keller (Utrecht): The towering centre-back helped his team to a 1-0 win against reigning champions AZ, scoring the match-winner. Keller hardly put a foot wrong in his defensive duties and made some crucial tackles.
Andreas Granqvist (Groningen): Granqvist was once again one of the best men on the pitch for Groningen this Sunday. The Swedish defender played a crucial role in his side’s clean sheet by clearing Lasse Nilsson’s shot off the line in the dying seconds of the game.
Jan Vertonghen (Ajax): The Belgian provided excellent cover for his fellow defenders whenever necessary and showed some good passing to build up play. Vertonghen will be satisfied with his performance against ADO.
Defensive Midfield
Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax): De Zeeuw was involved in pretty much every attack from the Amsterdam side and scored the opener with a ferocious long range drive. He was the true leader on the pitch and directed play in a superb manner.
Otman Bakkal (PSV): The young midfielder once again showcased his fine form for PSV. Bakkal never stopped running against Willem II and capped a good performance with a goal around the half hour mark to gift his side the lead. The versatile midfielder’s intelligent runs are a joy to watch.
Attacking Midfield
Luis Suarez (Ajax): Suarez failed to add his name to the scoresheet this week, however, he put in yet another excellent performance against ADO. The Uruguayan attacker hit the crossbar with a good shot and setup Marko Pantelic to put the Amsterdam side 2-0 up after 70 minutes of play.
Ibrahim Afellay (PSV): The highly-rated playmaker returned to PSV’s starting XI after having recovered from a groin injury and was instrumental in his side’s 3-1 victory. Afellay set p Danko Lazovic to strike and scored PSV’s third goal with a powerful long range effort.
Bryan Ruiz (Twente): Twente struggled to find an opening against VVV after falling 1-0 behind. However, Ruiz drew things level from nowhere with a superb shot from a narrow angle. The Costa Rican caused his opponents all kinds of trouble with his dribbles.
Forward
Fouad Idabdelhay (RKC): The forward helped his side to their first victory of the season with an outstanding performance on Saturday. Idabdelhay scored the equaliser against Roda and setup Charlison Benschop late in the first half.
