Formation: 4-2-3-1

Goalkeeper

Luciano (Groningen): Luciano was one of the main reasons why Groningen beat Heerenveen on Saturday evening. The popular shot stopper pulled off a number of world class saves and helped his side to their first victory of the season by keeping a clean sheet. His first half save from Roy Beerens was stand-out.

Defence

Stanislav Manolev (PSV): Manolev capped an excellent outing with his first Eredivisie goal. The full-back hardly set a foot wrong in his defensive duties and was a major threat going forward down the right wing. He showed some fine link-up play with Danko Lazovic, too.

Douglas (Twente): The towering centre-back put in a man of the match performance for Twente in the game against Utrecht. He made several key interceptions and a number of great tackles. Many see a future star player in Douglas and the promising youngster could indeed make it big in the future if he keeps up his current form.

Andreas Granqvist (Groningen): Granqvist was one of the best men on the pitch during Groningen’s 1-0 victory against Heerenveen. The strong defender prevented Gerald Sibon from levelling the score in the dying minutes of the game with an excellent clearance. He was strong in the air throughout the match and was solid as a rock at the back.

Jan Vertonghen (Ajax): The versatile Belgian international was doubtful for Ajax’s match against NAC due to a foot injury, but turned out to be fit. Vertonghen was hardly troubled in his defensive duties and helped his forwards whenever possible. He added his name to the scoresheet before the break with a powerful free kick.

Defensive Midfield

Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax):
De Zeeuw was all over the pitch for Ajax in their 6-0 thrashing of NAC on Sunday. He was unfortunate not to add his name to the scoresheet, but his passing was of superb quality. The Dutch international may have been an Ajax player for barely a month, but he is already the true leader of the Amsterdam side.

Otman Bakkal (PSV): The young midfielder once again displayed his fine form for PSV. Bakkal never stopped running against Roda and capped a good performance with a goal in the last seconds of the game. He showed great vision on several occasions, and head coach Fred Rutten will be more than happy with his progress this term.

Offensive Midfield

Miroslav Stoch (Twente): Stoch caused his opponent all kinds of trouble with his silky runs down the right wing in Twente’s 3-2 win against Utrecht. The on-loan Chelsea attacker is developing into a key player at the Tukkers, and Steve McClaren will be more than happy to have the youngster in his squad.

Jon Dahl Tomasson (Feyenoord): The experienced attacker failed to make an impact at Feyenoord last term due to a string of injuries but he has certainly found back his scoring boots this term. Tomasson helped the Rotterdam side to a 3-2 victory against Willem II by netting a brace on Sunday.

Balazs Dzsudzsak (PSV): The Hungarian winger was once again in a superb form for PSV during their 3-0 win against Roda. Dzsudzsak opened the score after only six minutes with a brilliant shot and sent in a number of dangerous crosses in the remainder of the game. He has every reason to be satisfied with his performance.

Forward

Dario Cvitanich (Ajax): The forward appeared to be on his way out of the Amsterdam Arena back in August, but Cvitanich made it clear on Sunday that he has what it takes to succeed at Ajax. He was a constant threat to the NAC defence with his intelligent movement, capping an excellent performance with a hat-trick.
