Ajax Target Free Agent Marko Pantelic - Report
The Serbian forward could be the Dutch club's latest signing...
According to a report on football channel Eredivisie Live, Dutch powerhouse Ajax are pondering a swoop for Serbian international Marko Pantelic.
Ajax are keen to add a new striker to their squad before the end of this transfer window and were reportedly also monitoring the situation of Benni McCarthy and Danny Koevermans.
However, Pantelic is apparently their main target.
The highly rated forward left Bundesliga side Hertha BSC on a free transfer earlier this summer and has been a free agent ever since.
Pantelic played four seasons for Hertha, in which he scored 45 league goals.
The 30-year-old was also being linked with Schalke 04, but Pantelic made it clear that he was not interested in joining the Gelsenkirchen side.
The prolific hitman could reportedly sign a one-year deal with the Amsterdam side. Pantelic has hinted that he will make a decision about his future on Monday.
