Stuttgart Join Race For Jonathan de Guzman - Report
The Dutch playmaker appears to be on his way out of De Kuip...
Feyenoord midfielder Jonathan de Guzman appears to be on his way out of the Rotterdam outfit, with Bundesliga side Stuttgart the latest team linked with his services.
He was previously associated with Spanish side Valencia and English outfit Chelsea, and The Daily Mail now claims that the youngster has also attracted the interest of the German team.
De Guzman's current Feyenoord deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010, but the Eredivisie giants are keen to cash in on the Netherlands Under-21 starlet this summer. They have reportedly set a €5 million asking price for the 21-year-old.
Valencia are struggling to meet Feyenoord's demands, while Chelsea appear to be willing to match the Rotterdam side's asking price.
Stuttgart are keen to add another attacking midfielder to their squad due to the injury of Martin Lanig. They were also being linked with moves for Lyon's Sidney Govou and free agent Lincoln, but De Guzman now appears to be their primary target.
De Guzman has made it clear that he would prefer to join Valencia, as the midfielder is concerned that he would not have many chances to break into Chelsea's first team due to the level of competition at the London club. Nevertheless, the interest of Stuttgart could make him decide to leave for Germany in the end.
