Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has announced his initial squad for the international friendly against England on 12 August. The former Feyenoord coach has invited 25 players for the match.Veteran goalie Henk Timmer was dropped from the squad after having left Feyenoord this summer. The shot-stopper hasn't found a new club yet and is being replaced by Vitesse glovesman Piet Velthuizen.
Despite being out of favour at Real Madrid, playmaker Rafael van der Vaart and prolific striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar are both among the players who received an invitation.
Hamburger SV attacker Eljero Elia is also part of Van Marwijk's initial selection, but he will most likely be forced to withdraw from the squad due to a knee injury.
Full Squad:
Goalkeepers: Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax), Piet Velthuizen (Vitesse), Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht)
Defence: Dirk Marcellis and Andre Ooijer (both PSV), Edson Braafheid (Bayern Munich), Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax), John Heitinga (Atletico Madrid), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburger SV), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord)
Midfield: Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax), Ibrahim Afellay and Orlando Engelaar (both PSV), Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart (both Real Madrid), Stijn Schaars and David Mendes da Silva (both AZ), Mark van Bommel (Bayern Munich), Nigel de Jong (Manchester City)
Attack: Arjen Robben and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (both Real Madrid), Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt (both Liverpool), Eljero Elia (Hamburger SV), Robin van Persie (Arsenal).
