The Rotterdam side are being plagued by financial trouble and don’t have any transfer funds available at the moment. Nevertheless, a group of external investors is considering helping out and Cisse is keen to give Feyenoord a chance to get the required funds together.
“I’ve spoken to Feyenoord’s new head coach Mario Been and I’d be delighted to join them this summer,” said Cisse to Algemeen Dagblad.
The news that Cisse prefers to sign for Feyenoord is bad news for Twente. The Enschede side are keen to add the attacker to their squad as Marko Arnautovic’s replacement and claim that they’ve already agreed personal terms with Cisse.
Nevertheless, the attacker could decide to join Twente after all if Feyenoord fail to make the required funds available to match Roda’s €2.5 million asking price.
