The fallen Eredivisie giants were in the race for Sekou’s signature following the retirement of veteran forward Michael Mols. However, Feyenoord are being plagued by financial trouble and are unable to meet Roda’s demands.
Cisse’s current Roda deal is set to expire in 2011, but the striker has made it clear that he wants to leave the club this summer. Roda have reportedly set a €2.5 million asking price for their star player.
Earlier reports suggested that the 23-year-old was on the verge of joining Steve McClaren’s Twente. Nevertheless, teams such as Fiorentina, Villarreal, Lens and PSV are also closely monitoring the situation of the tricky attacker.
