thumbnail Hello,

Steve McClaren's Twente side are reportedly monitoring the progress of the Greek-based goalkeeper with a view to a move at a later date.

According to Voetbal International, Eredivisie outfit Twente are closely monitoring the situation of towering goalkeeper Michael Gspurning. The 27-year-old currently plays for Greek side Xanthi.

Gspurning's current Xanthi deal expires in 2010, but he has a minimum fee release clause in his contract. The Austrian international is reportedly allowed to move on for around €1 million.

Twente are in the market for a shot stopper because current first choice custodian Sander Boschker is nearing his retirement. The 38-year-old recently renewed his Twente deal, but he is expected to end his active career in one or two seasons.

Boschker's current deputy, Nikolay Mihaylov, is on loan from Liverpool until 2010. It remains to be seen whether Twente have the financial resources to sign the Bulgarian ‘keeper on a permanent deal.
