The experienced attacker was expected to show up for today’s training with the Ajax reserve team, but wanted some time to think about his future. Perez asked Ajax permission to skip the training and Ajax accepted this.
Perez was surprisingly told that he’s no longer wanted at Ajax. The gifted playmaker participated in a remarkable transfer story last year. Ajax sold him to rivals PSV, but bought him back in the winter after they were unable to find a replacement for Wesley Sneijder.
The decision that he’s surplus to requirements came as a big shock for the Danish player. ‘This is a total lack of respect for me. there seems to be no morality ever since Marco van Basten joined the club," said Perez on his own website.
Other players who are no longer needed, like Albert Luque and Jurgen Colin, did show up for today’s training. However, also Luque made it clear that he was not amused with the decision.
"I was a big name when they bought me last year and now I’m all of a sudden not enough good enough to be first team player: unbelievable," said the Spaniard.
