Dundee United 2-1 Celtic: Arabs End Ten-Year Hoops Hoodoo

Two late goals blow title race wide open...

Dundee United 2-1 Celtic

A last minute winner from Darren Dods gave Dundee United their first win in 10 years against Celtic, and turned the Scottish Premier League into a four-way race for the title.

Goalscorer Dods had earlier been the villain, tripping Barry Robson in the box with 20 minutes remaining, with the felled Robson slotting away the penalty for what the Hoops thought would be a late winner.

However, Craig Levein - being touted for the vacant Scotland job - pushed his men forward in a blistering finale and two late goals sealed a long awaited win.

Jon Daly, injured for so long, came off the bench to meet Danny Swanson's corner to bullet in his first goal since January.

Who could have blamed United for settling for a point? But, having gone a decade without victory against the visitors, they continued to push forward, and Darren Dods got his head to another Swanson corner to send the Tannadice crowd wild.

The result pushes United within three points of league leaders Rangers, with the latter having to travel to Dundee next month, and after this result and performance who would bet against them pulling off an Old Firm double and going top of the league?
