Ganso to make the bench for Brazil against Honduras
The No. 10 has recovered from a thigh complaint to make himself available for the last-eight, although he will once more start from the sidelines behind Oscar
Brazil playmaker Ganso has allayed fears that he would be forced out of London 2012 by training alongside his team-mates, although the Santos star is expected to start from the bench when the Selecao take on Honduras in the competition's quarter-final stage.A thigh injury had put the 22-year-old's participation in doubt for the last-eight, in a tournament where the Copa Libertadores winner has been forced to play second fiddle to Oscar in the Brazil first team.
In Friday's practice in Newcastle, however, Ganso resumed normal activity and is not expected to be a worry for Saturday's knockout clash.
Coach Mano Menezes has yet to announce his starting XI, but according to Globoesporte one position is still up for grabs, in a team that is unchanged from that which steamrollered Group C with three consecutive victories.
The trainer must decide who will lead the forward line alongside Neymar and Hulk, with AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato challenging Leandro Damiao for inclusion.
Rivals Honduras qualified in second place from Group D, finishing unbeaten in a campaign which also included a shock victory over Spain which eliminated the European powerhouses.
Probable Brazil XI vs. Honduras: Neto; Rafael, Thiago Silva, Juan, Marcelo; Sandro, Romulo, Oscar; Neymar, Hulk, Leandro Damiao/ Pato.
